Welcome

Chiesa Viva Locarno is an evangelical free church in Locarno, founded in 1962. We are an Italian-speaking but very international community – and you are warmly welcome.

Sunday service

Our service takes place every Sunday at 10 am at the Centro Arca, Via G. Cattori 11, 6600 Locarno (directions), and lasts about an hour and a half.

We sing together, pray and listen to a sermon from the Bible. Once a month we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. You don’t need to know anything in advance: you can simply be there and listen.

In your language

The service is held in Italian and translated simultaneously into several languages, including German, French, English, Portuguese, Spanish and many more. For these translations, bring your smartphone and earphones. Headphones for the German translation are provided.

Children

During the service, children aged 0 to 4 are looked after separately, and children aged 5 to 11 have their own programme. For little ones who are not yet ready to stay without their parents, there is a soundproof room in the main hall.

Getting here

On Sunday mornings the Centro Arca car park next to the Clinica Santa Chiara is available for people attending the service – we open the barrier when you arrive. Spaces are limited, so if you can, come on foot, by bike or by bus: the nearest stops are Lungolago Motta and Locarno Centro.

After the service

On some Sundays we stay together for refreshments or a shared lunch – you can find the dates in our calendar. It is the best opportunity to get to know us.

Our pastor

Daniele Scarabel has been pastor of the church since 2005. He offers pastoral care and, together with his wife Nicole, counselling for couples.
